What age groups will be offered?

U7 (2017 - 2018 birth year)

U9 (2015 - 2016 birth year)

U11 (2013 - 2014 birth year)

U13 (2011 - 2012 birth year)

U15 (2009 - 2010 birth year)

U18 (2006 - 2008 birth year)

How many players will be on each team?

Team sizes will be based on registration, skill levels, and other conditions that may arise; however, we are targeting teams of 11 - 17 players.

When are evaluations?

Evaluations will take place in early September 2023.

Where (and when) will practice be?

Practice times and locations will be determined based on ice availability and could be located at any of the rinks in our target area (Strathmore, Chestermere, Indus, Standard, Hussar etc.).  It is the objective to select practice ice locations (based on availability) that correspond to the majority of a team’s residency.

What league do the Wheatland Wranglers play in?

The Wheatland Wranglers U7 - U11 teams will play within the Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL). 

The Wheatland Wranglers U13&15 - U18 teams will play within the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League (RMFHL).

Will they only play against other all-female teams?

Teams will be comprised of all females; however, each team will tier accordingly and play against both other all-female teams, as well as traditional teams within a similar skill bracket [tier].

Some teams may have the opportunity to (and are encouraged to) play in non-league all-female team tournaments.
